How We Started

After graduating from the University of Dayton, Dr. Luke began working at Dayton Children’s Hospital as a PT. After a couple years experience, he and his wife, Ali, had the opportunity to travel and he worked as a contract physical therapist. He learned from top doctors of physical therapy, chiropractors, and personal trainers in Louisville, KY, Miami, FL, Seattle, WA, and San Diego, CA.

He learned the most during his time at Sports Performance Physical Therapy of San Diego, CA—specifically how to provide elite-level healthcare for professional, tactical, and recreational athletes. From this experience, the idea was sparked to bring similar high-level care to his home in the Midwest.

In March 2020, Luke and Ali found out they were expecting a baby so they made plans to finish their contracts, accepted new jobs back home, and excitedly moved back to live near family in Dayton, OH.

Then Covid happened—Luke and Ali’s jobs were cancelled and found themselves with a baby on the way, and no way to support the family. Dr. Luke took the leap to bring performance PT to his hometown and so began Training Nation Performance Therapy.

With a PT table crammed in the back of his Chevy Camaro, Dr. Luke would travel to homes and gyms in the area offering performance rehab. The side hustle transitioned to the main hustle with the passion and drive to help change people's lives.

Training Nation has now grown with additional performance therapists and multiple locations, in Centerville and Vandalia, where active people have access to care helping them stay healthy and active long-term!

A HUGE thank you to all the relationships we’ve had and have since the beginning. It’s because of you we are living our passion and dream helping people stay healthy and active!
