Elbow pain that keeps coming back? Let’s fix the cause.

If your elbow has been bugging you, you’ve probably already tried:

  • A brace or strap around your forearm

  • Ice and rest

  • Skipping pull-ups, curls, or kettlebell work

  • Switching to a lighter racquet or paddle

Those can help for a bit. Then you pick up a heavy bag, play a few games, or do a workout with lots of grip… and it’s back.

What elbow pain feels like

It usually shows up as:

  • Pain on the outside of the elbow (often called tennis elbow) or the inside (golfer’s elbow)

  • Pain when you grip, twist, or pick something up with your palm down

  • Pain during pull-ups, curls, rows, or kettlebell work

  • Stiffness in the morning or after a long workday

  • A weaker grip than you’re used to

Elbow pain is frustrating because your hands are involved in almost everything you do.

Why your elbow hurts

Most elbow pain comes from tendons that have been asked to do more than they’re ready for. We commonly see:

  • Grip-heavy training or work without enough recovery

  • A sudden jump in something new: pickleball, tennis, a new program, a home project

  • Forearm and grip strength that hasn’t kept up

  • Shoulder and wrist positions that dump extra stress onto the elbow

  • Long periods of rest that make the tendon less able to handle load

That last one surprises people. Tendons get better with the right kind of loading, not with endless rest.

Why your elbow pain keeps coming back

Most people follow a pretty similar pattern:

01 — You rest it. Strap on, workouts off.
02 — It calms down. Daily life feels okay again.
03 — You go back to normal. Same grip, same volume, same sport.
04 — It flares up again. The tendon still can’t handle that load.

Building the tendon back up is what finally breaks the cycle.

How we help

We don’t guess…we assess. Your first visit is a full hour, 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. From there, your plan follows our three steps:

FEEL BETTER: Calm it down. Hands-on treatment, smart activity changes, and tendon-friendly exercises so your elbow settles down without shutting everything off.

MOVE BETTER: Rebuild it. We gradually load the tendon, build forearm, grip, and shoulder strength, and clean up how you grip and pull.

PERFORM BETTER: Keep it. We progress you back to pull-ups, heavy carries, and your sport, with a plan to keep the pain from returning.

You’ll leave your first visit knowing what’s going on, what to do next, what to modify for now, and roughly how long it should take.

Elbow Questions People Often Ask

When should I get it looked at?

If your elbow has bothered you for a few weeks, keeps coming back, or is changing how you grip, lift, or play, it’s worth getting looked at now.

Do I need to stop training?

NO! PLEASE keep training. We can usually adjust things so you keep moving safely. Worst case, you hold off on one movement while you keep training everything else.

Should I wear a brace or strap?

A strap can help some people in the short term. It doesn’t build the strength your tendon needs, so we use it as a tool, not the plan.

Do you take insurance?

We’re an out-of-network provider, which lets us spend a full hour 1-on-1 with you. Many clients use HSA/FSA cards or submit our documentation to their insurance for possible reimbursement.
