Hip pain that keeps coming back? Let’s fix the cause.

If your hip has been bugging you, you’ve probably already tried:

  • Stretching your hip flexors every day

  • Foam rolling your glutes and IT band

  • Squatting a little higher or skipping lunges

  • Cutting back on running

Sometimes that helps for a while. Then you add a few miles, go deeper in a squat, or sit through a long drive… and it’s back.

What hip pain feels like

Most people describe it as:

  • A pinch in the front of the hip at the bottom of a squat

  • Pain on the outside of the hip when you lie on that side

  • Stiffness getting up after sitting

  • An ache during or after running, stairs, or lunges

  • Groin tightness that never seems to stretch out

It usually doesn’t stop you cold. It just keeps nudging you to do a little less, and that adds up.

Why your hip hurts

Your hips are built to be strong and mobile. When strength, control, or mobility drops off, the hip gets cranky. We commonly see:

  • Glutes and hip muscles that aren’t strong enough for what you’re asking them to do

  • Limited hip mobility that forces the joint into a pinch

  • A squat or lunge setup that doesn’t fit your body

  • Running or training volume that ramped up too quickly

  • A core and low back that pass extra stress to the hip

That’s why stretching alone doesn’t fix it. Often your hip doesn’t need to be looser. It needs to be stronger and better controlled.

Why your hip pain keeps coming back

Most people follow a pretty similar pattern:

01 — You back off. Fewer miles, higher squats, less training.
02 — It settles down. The pinch fades and you feel ready.
03 — You ramp back up. Same program, same depth, same mileage.
04 — It flares again. Your hip still doesn’t have the strength or control for that load.

Breaking that cycle means building your hip up, not just waiting it out.

How we help

We don’t guess…we assess. Your first visit is a full hour, 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. From there, your plan follows our three steps:

FEEL BETTER: Calm it down. Hands-on treatment and smart changes to your training so your hip calms down without losing all your fitness.

MOVE BETTER: Rebuild it. We dial in your squat, hinge, and running mechanics to fit your body, and build hip and core strength so the joint stops getting pinched or overloaded.

PERFORM BETTER: Keep it. We progress you back to heavy squats, running, and everything you love, with a plan to keep your hips strong.

You’ll leave your first visit knowing what’s going on, what to do next, what to modify for now, and roughly how long it should take.

Hip Questions People Often Ask

When should I get it looked at?

If your hip has bothered you for a few weeks, keeps coming back, or is changing how you squat, run, or walk, it’s worth getting looked at now.

Do I need to stop training?

NO! PLEASE keep training. We can usually adjust things so you keep moving safely. Worst case, you hold off on one movement while you keep training everything else.

Should I just stretch more?

Sometimes, but usually not. Many hips that feel tight actually need more strength and control. We’ll show you exactly what your hip needs.

Do you take insurance?

We’re an out-of-network provider, which lets us spend a full hour 1-on-1 with you. Many clients use HSA/FSA cards or submit our documentation to their insurance for possible reimbursement.
