Training for HYROX with something nagging you?

If you’re training for HYROX, you’ve probably already tried:

  • Skipping sled work or wall balls for a while

  • Swapping runs for the bike or rower

  • Mobility work before every session

  • Pushing through and hoping it holds until race day

HYROX asks your body to run and lift at the same time, for a long time. That’s exactly why small problems can turn into big ones.

What we see in HYROX athletes

  • Low back pain from sled pushes, sled pulls, and farmers carries

  • Knee pain from sandbag lunges, wall balls, and running on tired legs

  • Shoulder pain from wall balls and the SkiErg

  • Calf and Achilles pain as running volume climbs

  • Hip and wrist pain from burpee broad jumps

Most of it shows up when you’re tired, because that’s when positions start to slip.

Why HYROX injuries tend to linger

  • Running and heavy stations stacked together, so fatigue piles up

  • Big jumps in volume as race day gets closer

  • Sled and carry technique that loads your back instead of your legs

  • Running mechanics that break down after the stations

  • Not enough recovery between hard combo sessions

Rest calms things down. It doesn’t fix the strength, technique, or capacity issue behind it.

Getting you race-ready

We know what HYROX asks of you: running between every station, plus the SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.

HYROX is growing fast around South Dayton, with local gyms like Freedom Pointe CrossFit, Dayton Functional Fitness, and Fit Body Boot Camp in Beavercreek hosting and training for it.

We’ll tell you what you can keep doing, what to modify for now, and how to build back up around your race date. We can also use our running analysis and performance testing to see how your body holds up when you’re fatigued.

How we help

We don’t guess…we assess. Your first visit is a full hour, 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. From there, your plan follows our three steps:

FEEL BETTER: Calm it down. Hands-on treatment and smart training changes so the pain settles while you keep building fitness.

MOVE BETTER: Rebuild it. We fix the strength, mobility, and technique gaps behind the problem, especially under fatigue.

PERFORM BETTER: Keep it. We build you back to full training and race day, with a plan to keep you healthy for the next one.

You’ll leave your first visit knowing what’s going on, what to do next, what to modify for now, and roughly how long it should take.

“Not sure a five-star rating is high enough.” — Pete
